Treat yourself to our wine bar and restaurant!

Why set up a wine bar and restaurant in the guinguette style?

Gilles :

When we took over the campsite, it was a no-brainer for us 🙂

Even though most of our customers come to our campsite to recharge their batteries, visit the region, go for a walk or even hike, cycle, ride a motorbike or horseback ride, at the end of the day they are delighted to find a place where they can share, meet and enjoy the great outdoors.

The “guinguette” feel came to the fore, thanks to the magnificent trees and large stones that give the place a convivial feel. All we had to do then was hang garlands, among other things. 😉

Why was it called “Le Bon Gaillard – Bar à Vin et Restaurant”?

Delphine :

Brainstorming with our family and friends, this idea came up while looking for a play on words with the name of the village. “Le Bon Gaillard” seemed like a good idea, because it defines Gilles’ personality. In fact, even the character in the logo resembles him. (laughs)

I hear locals can come too?

Gilles:

And yes!!! The idea was also to offer a place to live for the residents of Montgailhard and the surrounding area. It’s a great way to meet people, and there are plenty of stories to tell! In fact, since we opened, some tourists have been coming to Ariège regularly, but they don’t stay at the campsite any more. They sleep directly with local people, and come to see us again at Le Bon Gaillard. (laughs)

What word would you use to define this place?

Delphine :

Family-friendly! Without hesitation 🙂
As parents ourselves, we know that going out for a drink or a meal in a restaurant with children is no mean feat… So we wanted to find an unstoppable solution so that the children could have fun, while the parents enjoyed some grown-up time, with peace of mind and an eye on their children. So, stuck close to the Bon Gaillard, we created a zone for all ages: playground, petanque pitch, table tennis, table football, board games room with a reading corner… some evenings are especially for children!

Where do the ingredients on your menu come from?

Gilles :

HOMEMADE !!!

It’s a choice to work as much as possible with partners and suppliers as close to home as possible 😉

From craft beer, to cheese boards and charcuterie from our region, fresh salads and grilled meats on the daily menu, right through to desserts, everything is done in the spirit of the producer to the consumer!

Here are 2 videos to show you the links we can have with our producers” 😉

Finally, what types of events do you offer?

Delphine :

There’s something for everyone !!!

Campfire evenings with roast marshmallows, concert meals, chicken-roast-potato evenings, Pitchoun parties, foam parties, open-air concerts, TV broadcasts on giant screens, pigs on spits evenings… and even fireworks on some special evenings!!.. And would you like to know a little secret? It’s all down to the boss… 😉
